May 2026

We trust you all are enjoying the change of weather after such a long winter. No matter how long or difficult winter may seem, eventually it gives way to spring. In much the same way, there are seasons in life when we face trials and hardships that seem to linger. Yet, as followers of Christ, we have the hope that difficult times will not last forever. God is faithful to carry us through every season, and in His perfect time, the warming rays of the sun will once again shine on us.

New Zealand

We are continuing to hold a youth video Bible class. Recently, we challenged the young people to memorize the Ten Commandments and told them we would send them a prize if they succeeded. They sent us videos of themselves reciting the commandments, and they were especially excited to receive American candy as their reward. In our last class, they mentioned that we will be returning to New Zealand next year. They are excited for us to come back!

In addition to the youth Bible class, Shawn has begun recording a video devotional for the adults, which we send out every couple of weeks.

Nursing Home

The nursing home in Indiana, where we held a Christmas service, asked us to return and conduct an Easter service as well. We are thankful for this open door to share the good news that we serve a risen Savior.

South Dakota

We are grateful for all that the Lord is doing here in South Dakota. It’s hard to believe that we have already been here for more than a month. It has been encouraging to see the Lord working in the hearts of the people here! Brother and Sister Sanders have been so good to us and have made us feel so welcome. We appreciate them so much!! They have a great burden for the people here, and we know the Lord will bless them abundantly for their efforts. It has been a blessing to see the Lord working in the hearts and lives of the people here.

Not long after we arrived, one of the mothers shared with Sister Sanders that her daughter wanted to be part of a youth group. The Lord used this as an open door for the church to begin a girls’ ministry. On May 26th, Sister Sanders and Reitha will begin the Grace Girls Connection, which will meet weekly throughout the summer.

We were also encouraged by the wonderful attendance at the Mother’s Day service, with a total of 28 people present. It was exciting to see so many come together for the service.

Please continue praying for the ministry here in South Dakota, that God would keep speaking to hearts and changing lives. Also, pray that the Lord will lead Brother and Sister Sanders to a permanent church building. Right now, the church is meeting in a one-room community center, and there is a need for a building with additional rooms to better serve the growing ministry.

We have had the opportunity to hand out tracts and invite several people in the RV park where we are staying to attend church. We are also thankful for the open doors the Lord has given us to share the Gospel and be a witness to them.

Acting out a skit.
