A Different Kind of Outreach
For a school project Sharei was supposed to give someone a letter explaining the plan of salvation. She wrote a letter telling how a heart that is black with sin can be made white as snow through the blood of Christ. Reitha made some colored hearts to illustrate the letter. Sharei wanted to give it to one of the workers at the food bank we work at. We decided to give one to everyone that works with us there. We thought she was very courageous to do this. We pray that their hearts will be turned towards the Lord.
Reitha has been burdened for a house across the street from where we live. We know there are at least 11 people living in the house, if not more. The Lord has brought them to her mind at different times, even as she has been awake in the middle of the night. One night the Lord spoke to Reitha, telling her that there were “strong holds” in the house. We’ve reached out to them in various ways, including giving them items for a newborn baby, clothing for one of the little girls, and food from the food bank. We also gave them a Bible at Christmas. Reitha invited Lisa, one of the ladies who live there, to church a couple of times. She has not come as of yet. Reitha felt the Lord laid it on her heart to write a letter to them about the last days and the return of Christ. We placed some tracts in with the letter, including one about the Tribulation. She gave it to Lisa and asked her to have the others read it. She said she would pass it around. Please help us pray against the enemy that has these people bound in their sins. We do not know everyone’s name, but we do know Lisa, Allistar, and Julia.
False Religions
As we have said before, there are so many different religions here in Auckland. Immigration has led to rapid growth of many different religions here in New Zealand over the past 30 years. The positive aspect of this is that the people that have immigrated here have a chance to be exposed to Christianity. Some of them come from countries where there is not freedom to share the Gospel.
We happened to find a place where Muslim men go to pray that is located at the back of a shopping center. We are wanting to write a letter about salvation and the end times to place there along with some tracts. Please pray that their hearts will be opened to the truth.
We have some Hindu neighbors who we have been praying for. One day Reitha had an opportunity to witness to them. The Father of the house said he used to go to a Christian school. He said if he was going to change he would of done it then. Reitha explained that Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. He made the statement that they don’t believe in Jesus. His wife said they will die being Hindu.
Our heart’s desire is that the Holy Spirit will penetrate into their hearts the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that they will surrender their lives to Him. Please pray against the demonic powers behind these false religions, and that we will see souls saved.
Below are some pictures of some of the religious centers near us here in Auckland.
Street Outreach
It is sad to see that so many people are blinded to the reality of Hell. Reitha has talked to different ones, asking them if they died tonight, where will they spend eternity? One young man said he does not think about it. She told him that it is something we need to think about. said A Frenchman talked like it was not a big deal that he was going to hell. Another man, when asked this question, said probably hell. Reitha told him hell is forever. She said there are a lot of religions in the world that think they are going to Heaven. But Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, “no man cometh to the Father but by Him. The man said I will take my chances. One woman responded to this question with, “I’m probably going to hell and, I’m perfectly okay with that.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” Please help us pray that the blinders will be removed from their eyes, and that they will understand how terrible Hell really is!
As we have been out on the street passing tracts, so many people will just ignore you and keep walking. If they do respond so many refuse to take one. These tracts could make all the difference in where they spend eternity. However, we are thankful, that the last Friday night we went to downtown Auckland more people were receptive. This is a direct answer to prayer.
Passing out Bibles.
