August was a very busy month for us. We had many different ministry opportunities during this month. We are grateful for every door that was opened and for every heart that was touched.
Children’s Bible Class
We continued with the story of Moses. This month we covered the plagues in Egypt. Dax, one of the parents, played Pharaoh and a couple of the boys played Moses and Aaron to act out the story. We had a lot of fun teaching this story.
At the beginning of the year we challenged the children in the Bible class to read the Bible. We told them we would have a reward for those that reached the goal we had set for them based on their age and reading abilities. We took them to a trampoline park as a reward. On the way there we asked them if they learned a lot from reading the Bible, and they said yes. We encouraged them to continue reading and they said they were. We trust the Lord will continue to speak to their hearts through His Word. Here is a picture of part of the group. Some of the others could not make it because of sickness and other issues. We are planning to doing something with them later.
The kids from the Bible class came over one evening to have dinner and play, we had a lot of fun!
Street Outreach
One Friday night while the girls were singing, a lady by the name of Leilani came up and listened to them. Reitha began talking to her. She said that seven years ago she was homeless, on drugs and in a bad relationship. A man that would come and evangelize on the street prayed for her and invited her to church. She went to church and got saved, later she was filled with the Holy Spirit. She moved away from Auckland sometime after that, but she feels that the Lord is leading her back here. We felt the sweet presence of the Lord as she prayed for us. We believe that she was sent by the Lord as an encouragement that there are still those who will hear the truth and receive it. Three to four weeks prior to this, the Lord brought the story of the wedding feast in Matthew 22 to Reitha’s mind and laid it on her heart to start inviting the homeless to church. She invited around 3 that night. None have come yet, but we are hoping they will.
Many times a group of Hare Krishna followers will come down the sidewalk chanting and singing while we are evangelizing in downtown Auckland. As they come by, we try to give them tracts. A few of them have taken one. We pray that God will reveal himself to them through these tracts.

Bible Study
In our previous post we have talked about our neighbor, Cristy. She has been faithful to come to the Bible study. This month her husband, Wendell, came for the first time. The week before Cristy had asked him to come to the kids Bible class and he said, “you cannot force me to come.” However, he did end up coming to the Bible class towards the end. As he was coming in Reitha was talking about salvation through the blood of Christ, comparing it to the blood the Israelite’s placed on their doorposts. It brought a tear to Cristy’s eye when he came, she was so happy! This is a direct answer to our prayers! God is truly faithful.
Such a wonderful work! We are praying for your family.
Thank you, we appreciate your prayers.
